GATE SPECIFICATIONS

Audio:

  • CD-R: We accept CD-I, CD-XA and Mixed Mode Red Book Audio formatted CD-R Compact Discs as input for CD-ROM and AUDIO reproduction.

NOTE: I-Tunes, Toast, Easy-CD Creator and other consumer CD burning software should not be use to master Industry standard audio CDs or make Enhanced Audio CDs. You should use the professional versions of the software or professional equipment for mastering for professional industrial standard replication.

  • 4 MM DAT: We accept 4mm DAT tapes with a sample rate of 44.1 kHz. Only for clients that have opted to use our post-production and mastering services. We do not accept this media for final replication.
  • DATA FILES: We accept the following file formats when clients use our post-production and mastering services: Stereo Interleaved SDII, .AIF or .WAV data files on MAC or PC CD-ROM or DVD ROM.
  • We also offer 24 bit 48kHz/96kHz Mastering (Call for specifications)

Data Formatting for CD-ROMs (Software & Mixed Mode):

  • ISO 9660: This file system is an international standard and is supported by none other than Microsoft in their MS-DOS CD-ROM extensions. Most other systems also support CD-ROM discs that conform to the ISO-9660 standard.
  • HFS (Hierarchical File System): The format is supported solely by Apple Macintosh computer systems. A disc using this format will be like a Macintosh hard drive.
Dual Partition: This consists of creating both an ISO and an HFS partition on the same disc. IT looks like an HFS on the Mac and a DOS/PC disc on DOS/PC machines.
  • CD-ROM-XA: CD-ROM-Extended Architecture is an extension to the CD-ROM standard using elements of the CD-I specification,  and consistent with the ISO-9660 volume and file structure standard.
  • Mixed Mode: This is a combination of audio tracks and CD-ROM tracks on the same CD. The audio information is supplied on CD-ROM or 4 mm audio DAT tape.
