The Gate was selected by The New York Times to provide a solid-nickel record to be used in a Time Capsule project being done by the Times and the Museum of Natural History in New York. A copy of the actual record, along with a description of the process undertaken in its creation by The Gate, will be on display in the Museum until the closing of the capsule. The capsule will be buried under the foundation of a new wing of the museum with instructions to open it at the next millennium in 3000.
